The Operational Accounting Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the business. By leading and developing a high-performing team, this role drives process improvements, strengthens financial controls, and enhances operational effectiveness. As a key link between operational accounting and broader business functions, this role supports strategic decision-making by delivering insights that mitigate risk, identify opportunities, and improve financial performance. By maintaining strong governance and driving operational excellence, the Team Leader directly contributes to the organisation’s financial health and long-term success. Primary Accountabilities & Objectives Weekly Business Meetings (WBM) Oversee ledger management tasks and approve daily ELFs Monthly Reviews - Conduct and ensure completion of Day 1 and Day 4 P&L reviews, identify and report on financial health overview reviews Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback and support Manage transfer processes to completion, including status updates, final checks, and escalations Weekly reporting on ticket volumes, financial risk reviews, and deliver team-specific training sessions Engage in process improvements, Omnis testing, and clean-up activities to enhance operational efficiency Set clear expectations for daily team activities and be available for team queries, resolving escalations promptly Oversee onboarding of new team members, ensure all team members meet KPIs, and promote training for team members and Assistant Team Leaders (ATL's) Approve team timesheets, coordinate team social activities, and set professional expectations for team members Expense claims Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes Experience: At least 2 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar Completed Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar or studying towards Why Flight Centre? ♀️Culture: you will be employed by an inclusive company that offers a team culture like no other in the industry - Flight Centre Travel Group Australia is proud to be a certified Great Place To Work® Australia New Zealand Pty Ltd Exclusive Staff Discounts: Accessible via our employee-only portal with 350 of Australia’s leading retailers, health and wellness discounts, financial planning advice, employee share plan and more.
