Guidance Officer - Pialba State School & Torquay State SchoolEducation (Organisation site)North Coast Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance DivisionNorth Coast Region are seeking an enthusiastic Guidance Officer to join their guidance team on a full-time temporary basis from 16 April 2025 until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.The successful applicant will be required to work across two schools in the Hervey Bay area. The position will be 0.6 FTE at Pialba State School and 0.4 FTE at Torquay State School.The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.About the RoleAs the Guidance Officer you will:Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes.Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.Guidance Officers contribute towards, and are accountable for the provision of a comprehensive student support program that is responsive to the identified and changing needs of students. The program will be negotiated with and authorised by a line manager, usually the Principal.
