About the role We have experienced sustained growth as a company and seek a dedicated and professionally like-minded person to join our team. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Site Manager with a civil engineering background to supervise and manage civil construction projects. This role requires effective site supervision, coordination, all site required document control and reporting, tracking and maintaining construction program, adhering to safety and quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Our projects typically comprise installation of:
Inground services - stormwater drainage, water, gas, sewer, electrical, and safely working around existing services.Road, pavement and carpark constructionEarthworks - cut to fill, grading and compactionConcrete works - paths, kerbs, ground slabs, footings, retaining walls, stairs all requiring formwork and steel reinforcementLandscaping - Irrigation and softscapeKey Responsibilities: Project Supervision: Oversee daily site operations and ensure adherence to project plans, designs, specifications and all necessary document reporting.Supervise subcontractors, workers, and other on-site staff to ensure work is progressing according to the approved schedule and quality standards.Ensure safety and quality standards are implemented.Site Planning & Coordination: Prepare site-specific work plans and coordinate resources, materials, and manpower to ensure smooth project execution.Collaborate with the design and project management teams to review project specifications and scope of work.Plan and manage logistics on-site, including equipment and materials delivery and storage.Lead project site meetings with superintendent and minute meetings.Quality Assurance & Safety Protocols: Monitor construction quality to ensure it meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.Conduct regular inspections to ensure the proper installation of materials and adherence to construction drawings.Implement quality control procedures and resolve any technical issues that arise.Responsible for implementing and adhering to the company's management systems for ISO accreditation 9001, 14001, 45001 in Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.Including but not limited to reporting of Inspection and Test Plan reporting, daily pre-starts, weekly toolbox etc.Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate site records including daily logs, progress reports, and material inventories.Prepare and submit reports on site progress, issues, delays, and risks to senior management.Track and manage costs, procurement of materials, and project schedules.Manage, supervise, and motivate on-site workers and subcontractors, providing guidance and support as needed.Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to any issues or challenges on site.Ensure effective communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and project management teams.Key Selection Criteria: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role in civil construction.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.Experience with construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project) is an advantage.Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.Excellent project management and organizational skills.Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Salary and Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience
