Please note, as part of your application, you will be required to outline your experience Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is currently seeking applications across the following areas: Surgical Medical/Rehab Oncology High Dependency Unit Emergency Care Centre PACU Anesthetics Recovery Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services. What you’ll be doing As a Nurse with Mater, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes relevant to the ward. You will also: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, symptoms, medications, and progress notes. Educate patients and their families on various aspects of healthcare, including disease prevention, self-care techniques, and post-treatment instructions. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and medications Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organised patient care environment. Assist in the orientation and training of new staff, providing guidance and support as needed. About you To be considered for this position, you will have: Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions) Have demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills Have the ability to function within a multidisciplinary team environment Previous experience with administering chemotherapy and experience with CVADS is desirable however not required. If no experience, willingness to acquire the skill You will have strong leadership ability and experience, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to promote the philosophy and values of Mater to all staff.
