Job Title: Area Training Officer (RFSO2)
Rural Fire Service Queensland - Emerald and Rockhampton
The Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) Districts focus on supporting a range of operational and organisational functions in the management of rural fires, enabling field-based staff and volunteers to concentrate on immediate task execution and response.
The Area Training Officer role is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, delivery, and evaluation of training to volunteers and brigades, in accordance with the annual training plan, while ensuring compliance with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and organisational audit requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the coordination, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation of formal and informal training and support additional courses for volunteers, to ensure the volunteer workforce is appropriately trained to carry out their roles.
* Conduct training needs assessments for volunteers to identify gaps in current capabilities, actively seeking input from brigades and Area stakeholders on training requirements.
* Provide Area input into the development of the annual training plan for the District, focusing on volunteers.
* Coordinate onboarding activities for new brigade volunteers, such as inductions, with a focus on building brigade operational responsiveness capability.
Requirements:
* Must meet the mandatory requirements and attributes as outlined in the generic RFSQ Rural Officer Two (RFSO2) role description.
* Knowledge of, or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organisation.
