The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) has an opportunity to make impactful change as we seek to appoint a Flight Nurse based at our Broken Hill Base. As a Flight Nurse, you will play a vital role in our organisation, being required to provide direct quality nursing care for an individual or group of patients within an aero medical environment. RFDSSE is offering a variety of employment opportunities including a fly-in and fly-out model (FIFO), permanent full-time or part-time, understanding that relocation is not an option for everyone.
About You
As a Flight Nurse you will be working in an autonomous environment, utilising your skills and experience to deliver acute patient care. You will have the ability to take initiative in emergency situations following RFDSSE Guidelines, in conjunction with RFDSSE Medical Officers or on-call Medical Retrieval Consultants. In addition, you will be familiar with the relevant state drug and poisons regulation and controlled substances Act all while promoting a safe and harmonious working environment.
You will additionally present with the pre-requisites of:
1. Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
2. Post Registration qualifications in Midwifery with birth suite experience
3. Minimum 4 years’ Acute Post Graduate Critical Care and Nursing experience (fields inclusive of Emergency, ICU, Cardiac or Cardiothoracic Nursing)
4. Current Advanced Life Support Certification
