Chief Steward Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Chief Steward to oversee the sanitation area of our kitchens and contribute to the smooth operation of our dining experience.
About the Role
* Manage and coordinate daily stewarding operations, including supervising the stewarding team.
* Liaise with the Executive Chef and Department Heads to ensure equipment requirements are met and fully operational.
* Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy working environment.
* Oversee and uphold hygiene standards in our kitchen/stewarding operations, including banquets, à la carte restaurants, and staff canteen.
* Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste to optimize Food & Beverage efficiency.
* Facilitate and promote a collaborative interdepartmental work environment throughout the hotel.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working with a large fast-paced stewarding operation.
* Strong knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
* Ability to effectively interact and communicate with staff, management, and vendors.
* Proven ability to design and manage efficient staffing schedules, optimizing team performance.
* Demonstrated experience in efficiently managing stock levels and overseeing invoicing processes.
