The Role
The Electrical Tradesperson is accountable under the leadership and direction of a Team Leader to carry out the duties associated with the construction, commissioning, operating and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
The Electrical Tradesperson is accountable to operate safely and effectively as a team member in the work environment. This may also include duties associated with the construction, commissioning, operating and maintenance of renewable projects and substations.
What you will need:
* Knowledge and experience in Substation Construction activities, including installation of High Voltage equipment and systems;
* Experience in construction of renewable projects;
* Current SA Electrical worker registration;
* Current construction industry white card;
* Current South Australian Drivers Licence;
* Basic computer skills;
* High Voltage Switching Operator Accreditation (Cat 20 & Cat 2);
* High risk EWP and Forklift licences;
* Working at heights qualification;
* Current First Aid and CPR qualification.
Other criteria include:
* Working knowledge of OH&S policies, practices, procedures and relevant acts; specific knowledge of substation and renewable infrastructure installation;
* Specific knowledge of transmission and distribution networks;
* Competent skills and knowledge to undertake installation, maintenance and fault-finding of substation protection schemes, relays and associated equipment including the use of specialised test equipment;
* Competent skills and knowledge to undertake construction and fault-finding of substation switch gear, transformers and associated equipment;
* Ability to read and interpret all types of construction drawings;
* Competent planning and organising skills to achieve results in a cost effective manner;
* Competent problem solving skills;
* Competent communication skills, both written and oral;
* Competent customer service skills;
* Competent ability to identify & implement opportunities to improve business performance.
