Key Responsibilities Support and maintain council network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently and professionally Assist with network-related projects such as infrastructure upgrades, new site setups, and cloud integrations Document configurations and changes to ensure ongoing network visibility and consistency Provide input on best practices for network performance, security, and reliability What We’re Looking For Practical experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba) Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Flexibility to work on-site across council locations when required Desirable Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Fortinet NSE Experience working in a local government or similar regulated environment Knowledge of cloud networking (e.g. Azure, AWS) Benefits Casual rates and flexible hours to suit your availability Work on meaningful infrastructure that supports local communities Join a supportive and collaborative ICT team Opportunities to stay current with technologies without full-time commitment Council conditions and access to employee benefits
