We are looking for a Principal Product Designer to join our dynamic team and lead the design efforts across our digital platforms, including the Kmart & Target apps and websites. This role is essential to driving customer engagement and ensuring our digital products remain at the forefront of innovation. As a Principal Product Designer, you will be at the heart of our digital transformation efforts. Reporting to the Head of Product and Design, you will play a critical role in delivering key outcomes for our app and online trade. You will lead high-impact projects, operationally support trade activities, and drive the development of new features such as pre-order functionality and online experimentation. This is a fixed-term opportunity to join our talented and collaborative Product team that values creativity, innovation, and a customer-centric approach. What You’ll Be Doing: Oversee and mentor a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Ensure the creation of consistent and thoughtful end-to-end customer experiences for Kmart and Target online shoppers. Work across functions to identify critical customer journeys and implement strategies to improve them. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support trade activities and ensure a seamless online shopping experience. Lead the development and implementation of new capabilities, including pre-order functionality and experimentation. Promote a customer-centric culture across the organization. To Be Successful in This Role You’ll Have: Experience in a similar role, with a strong background in retail and customer-facing products. Exposure to end-to-end design processes, from research and discovery through to delivery and measurement. Proven ability to work effectively in a high-activity environment with competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with influence. Experience leading design teams, focusing on mentoring and supporting team success.
