About the Role
The purpose of this position is to provide high-level clinical leadership and evidence-based social work clinical services in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Professional Practice Standards and Code of Ethics.
This role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment, leading to optimum psychosocial outcomes for consumers, families, and carers seen by Cancer Care Coordinators. The position involves coordinating the provision of social work services to cancer patients, which may be required to work in various rural facilities across West Moreton Health.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Deliver social work clinical services in accordance with the AASW Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards using well-developed psychosocial assessments and intervention skills.
* Prioritize commitment and leadership for active and ongoing professional development, research, supervision, and CPD hours set by the AASW.
* Exhibit competence in professional clinical practice across multiple specialties, adhering to defined service standards and managing complex patient/client care for culturally and linguistically diverse clients.
* Demonstrate effective written communication skills, including psychosocial assessments, correspondence with service providers, and clinical reports, while maintaining medico-legal requirements.
* Utilize expertise in communication, negotiation, consultation, advocacy, and interpersonal skills to ensure independent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and cooperative work with other professionals.
Mandatory Requirements
* Ability to undertake work on the Social Work, After Hours on-call roster with 7 days a week rostering availability.
* Valid driver’s license endorsement to operate a motor vehicle is required; proof must be produced before commencement of duties.
* Blue card is mandatory due to the nature of providing health, counselling, and support services that involve children.
