As we continue to grow our business and team, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Exploration Project Geologist to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our journey to becoming a leading ASX gold-copper producer and contribute to our future success.
About the Role
Ready to be part of something exciting? Greatland is on the hunt for a discovery-driven Senior Exploration Project Geologist to join our high-performing exploration team. This is a full-time staff position, primarily based in Perth, with field work on a 2:1 campaign roster during the exploration season (March to December). You'll have the chance to work in remote locations on some of Australia’s most promising Greenfields exploration targets—offering a mix of challenge, variety and reward.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering exploration programs in remote areas, supervising AC, RC and diamond rigs, logging samples, and interpreting geological data to support target generation. You’ll manage field logistics, ensure the accuracy of geological data, and liaise with database consultants. The role also includes preparing statutory technical and environmental reports (DEMIRS), conducting regular safety meetings and audits, and working closely with the field team to keep operations running smoothly. A strong commitment to upholding Greatland’s Safety, Health, Environment and Heritage standards is essential.

About You
You’re someone who’s at home in the field and comfortable working in remote areas as part of a small, hands-on team. You’ve had solid experience with AC, RC or diamond drilling, and you know your way around sample logging, data interpretation, and keeping things moving when plans shift. You have experience in project evaluation and targeting and understand the mineral system approach to exploration. You approach exploration with curiosity and a practical mindset, and you take safety, heritage and environmental responsibilities seriously. You’re organised, proactive, and not afraid to get your boots dirty.
What Will Make You a Great Fit?
* Tertiary qualification in Geology from a recognised institution
* Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in gold-copper (Au-Cu) exploration
* Proven experience managing drill rigs, particularly RC and diamond drilling; contract reconciliation and negotiating
* Strong geological logging and 3D interpretation skills
* Solid understanding of mineral systems concepts for Au-Cu deposits; target generation & project review skills
* Capability in interpreting multi-element geochemistry and geophysical datasets, along with structural geology
* Familiarity with QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality data collection in the field
* Good working knowledge of current safety, environmental, and heritage practices in the exploration industry
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in MS Office and geological software such as Micromine, QGIS, or ArcGIS
* Previous experience in early-stage gold-copper exploration in remote locations (Desirable)
* Comfortable working in small, agile teams and confident operating independently
* Valid manual driver's licence and relevant off-road 4WD experience
* Willingness and ability to work in remote Greenfields bush camp environments.
