The role:
In this exciting role based out of our Sydney Head office, you will be providing insightful and impactful research on commercial real estate markets across Australia.
You will play a key role in analysing the economic trends impacting the major sectors – including office, retail, industrial and living sectors – and assess how these markets are performing nationally and how Australian markets are perceived in a wider global context.
You will also help to form our views on the outlook for these markets, comparing the drivers that will impact investment returns across multiple sectors and cities.
Key outputs will be reports and presentations on property investment trends nationally to complement our city specific reports. You will work with a national team on diverse research projects and engage regularly with clients. The role would suit an experienced real estate analyst or an economist seeking to apply their skills in the property industry.
Key responsibilities:
* Analyse and interpret economic, demographic, and property market research information promptly to produce insightful reports and presentations
* Deliver research reports, consultancy projects and presentations to clients or at industry conferences
* Use modelling skills to develop forecasts across the major Australian real estate markets
* Use analytical skills to assist with consulting mandates and help generate new business
* Work closely with the marketing team and the Chief Economist to establish output schedules interpret and define client and internal stakeholder needs
* Contribute new ideas to enhance the impact of our research, including data visualisation
* Mentoring junior staff members
* Contribute to the Research thought leadership agenda
Who are we looking for?

* 5 years+ of research experience in economics, property, government, finance or consulting services
* Tertiary qualifications in Economics/Finance/Mathematics/Property/Valuation
* Strong report-writing skills
* Broad economic knowledge and ability to provide credible market opinions and forecasts
* Strong presentation skills
* Advanced MS Excel skills
* Attention to detail
