About the rolePlastec Australia is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team on the Sunshine Coast. This full-time position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and play a crucial role in supporting our finance operations and contributing to the overall success of the business.What you'll be doingPreparing and processing financial transactions, including general ledger journals, reconciliations, and accrualsSupport for the Expense Management SystemAssisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, P&L reports, and cashflow forecastingSupport for accounts payable and accounts receivableMaintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and Capital Works in ProgressParticipating in the implementation of a new computer system and processes to improve efficiency and accuracyAssisting with the preparation of taxation accounting and compliance including GST, FBT, and income taxCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure financial information is accurate and timelyMaintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policiesWhat we're looking forTertiary qualification in Accounting or finance; undergraduate degree - ideally with a major in accountingAt least 1-3 years of experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar roleStrong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and accurately under pressureProficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and other financial reporting toolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleaguesA proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to changing prioritiesWhat we offerAt Plastec Australia, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
