About the Opportunity
As the Work Group Leader, Trades Services, you will be leading the day-to-day coordination and operations of our Trades Services Team to deliver essential services across the city. You’ll oversee resource allocation, task scheduling, and quality assurance to ensure high standards and meaningful outcomes for the community.
This role is central to maintaining our public infrastructure safely and effectively. Working closely with the Team Leader and Manager, City Maintenance, you’ll bring your expertise to support compliance with WHS, environmental, and statutory responsibilities, while identifying improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery.
Your leadership will foster a positive team culture focused on growth, performance, and quality service. If you enjoy the challenge of balancing operational oversight with hands-on team support and are passionate about community impact, this role is for you.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A tertiary qualification Diploma or higher in leadership/management and/or significant experience in leading Trades Maintenance teams or extensive experience in a relevant field.
* Extensive track record of providing impactful leadership that consistently strengthens and elevates the team's capabilities and performance.
* Sound knowledge and experience in planning and co-ordinating the allocation and deployment of staff, equipment and materials based on daily/weekly/monthly work programs.
* Sound understanding of the capabilities of plant and equipment used in maintenance activities.

Please be advised this is for a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary at the salaried Level 6 Classification commencing at $100,882 + 11.5% superannuation. Please note there will be a 3% salary increase commencing the first full pay period in January 2025 to $103,908 + super.
