If so, we invite you to bring your skills and enthusiasm to our team at Churches of Christ.What You’ll DoAs a Maintenance/Gardener, you will play a vital role in ensuring our facilities and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. Your responsibilities will include:Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, to ensure the safety and functionality of our buildings.Groundskeeping: Maintain gardens and outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and planting seasonal flora to create inviting spaces for residents and visitors.Safety Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Inspections: Regularly assess the condition of facilities and grounds, promptly addressing any issues.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order, performing basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed.Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to coordinate maintenance activities and support community events.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.What We’re Looking ForExperience: Previous experience in maintenance and/or gardening roles, preferably within community or aged care settings.Skills: Proficiency in using maintenance tools and gardening equipment, with a solid understanding of horticultural practices.Attention to Detail: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.Initiative: A proactive approach to tasks, with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.RequirementsRelevant certifications in maintenance, horticulture, or a related field are advantageous.A current National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or the ability to obtain).Physical capability to perform manual tasks and operate machinery safely.Current driver’s licence.Importantly, you will be someone who closely aligns with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.Ready to Apply?If you are enthusiastic about maintaining beautiful and functional spaces and possess the qualities we’re seeking, we would love to hear from you.
