What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with the ability to work in a demanding environment with an enthusiastic sense of customer support. You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Client networks.
* Implementing and maintaining data communications network services, components and associated infrastructure including updates to firmware, configurations, and replacement plans for all network equipment.
* Maintaining technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions.
* Providing technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of technical issues related to networking equipment and services within agreed timeframes that reflect business impact and importance.
* Conducting acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment.
* Acting as an interface between the organisation and suppliers/carriers/vendors regarding technical issues.
* Monitoring the performance of the communications networks in relation to established service level agreements (SLA's) and business needs.
* Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.
* Analysing network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate.
* Resolution of operational problems with new and existing network communication systems to SLA to ensure customer service levels are always maintained.

What will make you successful in this role?
* At least 5+ years’ experience in an ICT Network Engineering role
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of ICT Infrastructure Architecture
* Previous experience and understanding of wired and wireless LAN/WAN networking technologies.
* Well-developed understanding of service management principles and procedures, ICT service strategies and lifecycle plans.
* Technical understanding and experience when testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning network software/hardware to ensure optimum system performance and highlight potential issues/risks. · Well-developed project management skills to deliver project on agreed schedules with a view to improve current and future management of outputs, outcome, and impact. · Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business or Computer Science or equivalent · CISCO Certified Network Professional and Security Specialist or comparable qualification
