About the role One of the great things about a traineeship is that there is no such thing as a ‘typical’ day!
As a trainee with Muresk there will be core, dedicated tasks you will be responsible for, but the on-the-job learning will be diverse to help you with completing your Certificate III in Government. Trainee work will span across several units within Muresk Institute including;
3. Reception, client services;
4. accommodation, events;
5. facility and building maintenance;
6. accounts payable and receivable; and
7. Muresk training courses and business development.
What does a ‘typical’ day look like? On a ‘typical’ day as a trainee you could be dealing with simple customer service queries, booking accommodation and catering for an upcoming event, confirming training details with students and facilitators, setting up equipment for a conference, records management, processing invoices, organising meetings and on occasion helping out on the farm.
The role is diverse and you will learn a broad range of skills which will set you up for an interesting career with many options.
As a trainee, you will:
8. receive structured, on the job training in a supportive and inclusive work environment;
9. complete a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Government),
10. build valuable connections with other trainees, peers and experienced professionals across the whole of the Department of Training and Workforce Development agency;
11. access a comprehensive professional development program;
12. be connected with the Department’s Young Professionals Program; and
13. learn about the diverse roles and career pathways in the Department and WA Public Sector.
As long as you have a learning mindset and are open to new challenges to broaden your skills, this opportunity will set you up for a great career in the WA Public Sector.
The role will be offered as 12-months full-time. Salary will depend on your age. You’ll find that your work program will evolve over this time to introduce new office based tasks and learning opportunities that will help you build the knowledge and skills to confidently work in a public sector environment.
