Position: Human Resources Adviser Employment Type: Full time Salary Range: Excludes 15.4% employer super contribution Key Responsibilities: Provide Expert HR Advice: Offer specialised guidance on employment conditions and manage complex cases involving performance, probation, attendance and behaviour. Interpret and Apply Policies: Use judgement to interpret HR policies, legislation and guidelines, ensuring complex issues are handled appropriately. Lead Projects and Improve Process: Manage projects to enhance HR efficiency and productivity while promoting continuous improvement. Engage and Build Relationships: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships across HR functions. Research and Resolve Issues: Conduct detailed research to support decision-making and resolve complex HR matters, including responding to hotline and escalated queries. Support and Develop Staff: Identify career development opportunities, coach junior staff and manage team workload to ensure timely delivery. Guide and Advise: Provide HR guidance to managers and staff, ensure compliance with policies and best practices and lead the development of HR strategies and frameworks. Additional Information: Please note that this recruitment process will initially be used to fill four vacancies in the two sections listed above, and that the roles may be able to be performed from any of the locations listed. If an offer of non-ongoing employment is made, the successful applicant would be employed for an initial period of twelve months with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years. If filled on a non-ongoing basis, it should be noted that the positions may become ongoing in the next 18 months, which may result in the successful applicant being offered ongoing employment. The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature. What We Are Looking For: Knowledge and Experience: Background in HR, with experience in providing complex client support and responsiveness. Familiarity with departmental systems, including eRecruit and Aurion, is advantageous. Flexible employment arrangements are available with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
