The Role: HSE Manager
As the HSE Manager, you will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HSE activities across the Lithgow sites. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, lead safety initiatives, and foster a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility. This is a full-time permanent role based in Lithgow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, communicate gaps, and implement corrective actions.
* Identify HSE risks and establish controls to manage them effectively.
* Maintain and review competency, certification, and training records, halting work where necessary.
* Implement and monitor Thales HSE policies and procedures.
* Lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives for the Country Business Unit.
* Provide safety leadership for construction activities and high-risk operations.
* Investigate and report incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
* Track HSE performance and report on KPIs and objectives.
* Manage and develop the HSE team to meet business needs.
Your Skills:
* Degree or Diploma in Health, Safety, and Environment.
* Experience in complex, multi-disciplinary manufacturing and engineering settings.
* In-depth knowledge of Commonwealth and NSW OH&S and Environmental Legislation.
* Skilled in implementing compliant Safety Management Systems and injury prevention programs.
* Strong risk management and incident investigation abilities, including root cause analysis.
* Proficient in MS Office with excellent communication skills.
* Team player with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
