About the Role: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is tasked with achieving the Corporation's goals and effectively managing its operations. This includes implementing the Strategic and Healthy Country Plans in collaboration with the Board to promote positive outcomes for Dambimangari members. The CEO will model the Corporation's values and provide leadership to ensure legal compliance, effective controls, and a supportive workplace culture and drive sustainability. About the Corporation: Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) provides a unique opportunity to work closely with Aboriginal people in one of the most remote, spectacular regions of the Kimberley. DAC is a small Aboriginal Corporation dedicated to the benefit of our members, Dambimangari Traditional Owners. DAC is the governing body for all Dambimangari business on behalf of our members, and in line with traditional Law and Culture. We employ more than 30 staff, the vast majority of whom are Traditional Owners. The Corporation's key functions include: Managing Native Title including engaging with mining, tourism and other access and development proposals. Members' Services like health and education. Land and sea management (Indigenous Protected Area, Ranger Program & Jointly Managed Marine Park including fire, ferals, weeds and marine patrols). Cultural heritage management. Economic development. Visitor Management. Cultural programs. Remote infrastructure. Corporate Services including finance, administration & payroll. Duties include: Inspire, enable and drive the management team to execute the Corporation's Healthy Country Plan and Strategic Plan in an effective and efficient manner. Maintain and sustain the vision of the Corporation, ensuring it remains underpinned by the values and purpose of the Corporation. Ensure that financial management including systems, processes and records are maintained in accordance with relevant laws, and legislation and regulatory bodies, within approved budget. Ensure that the timely, accurate and regular financial, governance, risk, people and performance of the Corporation is submitted to the Board. Ensure that positive member relationships are established and maintained aligned with the Dambimangari culture, values and protocols. Ensure the administration of Member policies is delivered timely and efficiently, in accordance with the Dambimangari Code of Conduct. Review and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the Corporation operates in accordance with statutory requirements and good governance principles. Ensure that the Corporation conducts and complies with annual audit outcomes. Oversee organisational performance and providing clear direction, clarity, support, and development to team. Direct and prioritise resources, including human capital and financial, towards delivery of core business operations and strategic outcomes. Build organisational capability through succession planning, and active development of Dambimangari Peoples through learning and development opportunities, and upskilling. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment and work practices. Demonstrate and represent the values and vision of the Corporation in decision making behaviours, actions, and communications internally and externally. Manage challenges, conflict, perspectives and competing priorities with diplomacy, negotiating, and communicating beneficial outcomes for the Corporation. Qualifications and Experience: Extensive experience in an executive leadership role. Experience supporting Boards with decision making, especially in relation to performance, corporate governance, and strategic planning. Proven experience in successfully driving strategic growth, innovation, and income generation. Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or similar. Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong acumen in business management and development. Ability to promote and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the legislative requirements of the organisation are met.
