Your new role
As an HSEQ Advisor, you will provide direct support, assistance, and advisory services to multiple sites within your area of responsibility. This role involves travelling between sites to ensure compliance with statutory HSEQ requirements and driving continuous improvement in HSEQ performance, culture, and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide functional advice to branch management to ensure compliance with relevant HSEQ statutory regulations.
* Assist sites in demonstrating visible leadership and applying knowledge to reduce health and safety risks.
* Direct site management on HSE improvements and corrective actions, ensuring implementation.
* Facilitate effective incident and risk enquiries to identify and implement sustainable solutions.
* Act as or work with the Return-to-Work Coordinator for your sites.
* Collaborate with external parties such as health and safety regulators and Workers Compensation insurers.
* Schedule and deliver HSE compliance and operational training to employees.
* Ensure accurate and timely incident data and KPI reporting.
* Facilitate HSEQ aspects of Branch Management Meetings and communicate outcomes in relevant forums.
* Review and assess HSEQ procedures and policies for effectiveness and legal compliance.
* Conduct required audits to identify and control risks.
What you'll need to succeed
* Certificate IV in Health and Safety and/or Diploma in Health and Safety
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, WHS Management, or similar (highly regarded)
* Experience in blue-collar, high-risk industry environments (desirable)
* Understanding of transport and/or waste management (highly desirable)
* Minimum of two years of practical experience in a Health & Safety role
* Positive can-do attitude, approachability, strong teamwork, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
