Biodiversity Australia is an Environmental Consultancy which brings exciting opportunities for Vegetation team members for a project based within the Western Downs region.
About the opportunity
We are currently looking for Vegetation Team Members with multiple positions available for immediate start.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to weed control, herbicide application, weed identification, daily reporting and site assessment in rail corridors. You will be responsible for ensuring safe working practices are adhered to and quality work standards are achieved.
This position is always in the field therefore you must be happy to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Positions are casual, however hours are an average 10hours/day, Monday to Friday.
This is a long-term project and therefore we are seeking a committed team.
About you:
To be successful in the Vegetation Team Member role, the following requirements/skills are desirable:
* Experience working on Rail projects
* Experience/interest in identification of species both native and weeds
* Experience & knowledge in use of handling of a variety of agricultural chemicals
The following are a requirements:
* General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Manual Car Licence
* Ability to pass a police check
* Experience with equipment operations & maintenance such as zero turn mowers, chainsaws, brush-cutters etc. is desirable
* RIW card
* QR - Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC)
Highly desirable, or willing to obtain:
* Rail Corridor Protection Officer (RCPO) qualified
* ACDC Licence
* CAT 3 Medical
* Tractor and slasher tickets or experience such as Conduct Tractor Operations Course (RIIMP0315D) or similar
* HR or MR truck licence
* 4WD experience and towing experience
* First Aid & CPR qualifications
* Chainsaw level 1
