**Key Purpose of the Role**
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at ISPT.
The successful candidate will have a key role in delivering the execution of the Legal Business Plan by supporting business units to achieve their outcomes and providing sound, pragmatic legal support whilst managing legal risks at ISPT.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide and facilitate legal advice that is sound, proactive, commercially based, solution focused and meets ISPT's business needs.
* Confidently manage complex legal issues arising in the business.
* Proactively monitor and identify new or proposed legislation or legal issues with the potential to impact the business and provide timely briefings with key stakeholders and act as appropriate.
* Provide strategic and practical advice to the General Manager, Legal on ISPT's legal obligations & effective management of the legal function.
* Demonstrate leadership in responsible management of legal and other risks.
* Assist in managing the external Legal Adviser Policy and Panel, and in instructing and managing external legal advisers to ensure the goals and objectives of each project are achieved within time frames and within budgets.
**Requirements**
* First and foremost, you are a leader, you enjoy leading in a collaborative environment and enjoy working in a role where you remain hands on.
* You are tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Law and a current Legal Practising Certificate and have 10+ Years PQE.
* You will have proven experience in property law from within a legal firm or in-house setting.
* Experience with property capital transactions, development/construction, major leasing, and funds environment would be well regarded.
