SAFA plays an integral role in the overall management of the State Government's finances and risks, harnessing economies of scale and relevant expertise in wholesale financial markets and insurance markets to provide a range of treasury, insurance and vehicle fleet management services to public sector clients, set by its strategic direction.The Treasury Systems Specialist is tasked with providing system support, database administration, and driving continuous improvement for SAFA's Treasury Management System.
The main responsibilities include daily management of this essential business application and its processes, implementing system changes, and developing reports.
This work is done in collaboration with other system staff, the software vendor, and various stakeholders.What you'll do:Extensive experience in providing support and maintenance for financial systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.In-depth expertise in using reporting and business analytics tools like PowerBI, Java, Cognos, SAP Crystal Reports, and advanced Excel functions to derive meaningful insights and support decision-making.Comprehensive experience in managing SQL Server databases, including tasks such as setup, configuration, optimisation, and troubleshooting to maintain data integrity and accessibility.Strong programming background with significant exposure to extracting data from operational systems, facilitating seamless data integration and analysis.Proficient in using applications for executive reporting and presentations, as well as handling large datasets for simulations and thorough data analysis.Hands-on experience in leading projects focused on implementing business applications, ensuring smooth transitions and aligning with organisational needs.Skilled in developing and delivering technology-related training, empowering teams to effectively utilise new systems and tools.What you bring:Skilled in conducting advanced financial research, analysis and resolving complex strategic and operational issues with practical solutions through expert consultation.Effective in negotiating with diverse stakeholders and maintaining productive relationships.Experienced in driving and implementing change, contributing significantly through analytical skills and strategic thinking.Excellent communication skills, offering expert advice on complex or sensitive business process and operation issues.Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision and meet critical deadlines.Highly self-motivated and capable of exercising sound judgment.Collaborative team player, committed to shared responsibility for achieving goals and organisational objectives.Overall, you will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
