Senior Manager at the Institute of Modern Languages
The Institute of Modern Languages at The University of Queensland is looking for a Spanish Language Developer.
DETAILS:
* Attendance Dates : 28 April 2025 – 12 December 2025 (less public holidays)
* Required Staff : Two (2) Spanish language developers (dialect, from Spain).
* Objective : Defence requires two Spanish language developers to assist with the development of the Spanish Modular Proficiency Course (MPC) under the guidance and supervision of DFSL staff. The Spanish MPC course aims to prepare selected individuals for overseas representational postings, including embassy and foreign staff college positions, and to produce graduates with sufficient command of the target language to act as communication facilitators within routine and non-routine military settings at the strategic level. The Spanish Module #1 aims to develop LOTE proficiency to Australian Defence Language Proficiency Rating Scale (ADLPRS) Level 1+ in three macro skills (Speaking, Listening and Reading), and ADLPRS Level 1 in Writing, Translating and Interpreting.
* Duties Required :
1. Develop Module 1 training materials to the required standard following Course Design cell templates
2. Produce audio recordings to support Module 1 materials
3. Create supporting Moodle based activities for Mod 1 training package
4. Select suitable authentic Spanish texts and produce language activities based on these texts
* Days of Engagement : Monday – Friday (37.5hrs/week)
* Times : 08:00-12:00 & 13:00-16:30 (7.5hrs/day)
* Location : DFSL, RAAF Williams, Laverton, VIC
* Term Break(s): You will not be expected to work during the following dates:
1. 21-25 July 2025 (exact dates TBC)
* Pay Rate : 7.5-hours per day @ AC50A ($54.28/hr ) for all hours worked
* Security Clearance : A police check (valid 28-days prior to commencement) will be required. If you are selected, you would need to apply for a Police Check via AusPost or the AFP, as applicable.
