Griffin Marine Services has a vacancy for an Insulator / Lagger to join our DARWIN office, repairing and replacing thermal blankets and exhausts onto engines and or mechanical systems on commercial and defence vessels in our region. The ideal candidate would have experience in the marine industry or have transferable skills and willing to learn. Key Responsibilities: Measuring, stitching, sewing, cutting insulation and cladding material All general upholstery Redesign/Sew and fit insulation in accordance with installation drawings and procedures Install thermal blankets (or lagging) onto engine exhaust systems of marine vessels and ships Ensure work equipment is always maintained and in good working order Mechanically minded with the ability and willingness to be versatile and assist other trades as required Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an auto/ marine upholsterer or Insulator. Strong understanding of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in an industrial environment. Current driver’s license with reliable transportation. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks on an ongoing basis. Excellent teamwork skills. RTO Recognised Construction White Card (Essential). Valid and relevant trade qualifications, certificates, or experience in these roles previously. Must present with a willingness to support the business in a variety of tasks. Must be able to pass a Police check and drug and alcohol test due to security requirements.
