We are currently recruiting for an Associate to help build coverage of the Australian REIT universe as well as provide detailed data and analytics on real estate dynamics for the major real estate markets in Australia. The Australian team will be fully integrated within Green Street's global research team and report to the Head of Research for Europe & APAC based in London.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare, maintain and/or oversee detailed financial models/valuation, projections, and databasesApply sound understanding and use of finance and valuation techniquesValue a number of REITs using a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysesBecome an expert on covered companies and major real estate markets in AustraliaSupport the Australian Head in understanding the implications and impact of news events and economic forces on specific companies, sectors, and assetsPrepare and publish market-focused reports. Write sector Quick Takes and first draft of some research reports in support of the Australian HeadVoice opinions on investment recommendationsDevelop relationships with REIT management teams and institutional investors to share perspective on industry and covered companiesDevelop relationships with private market investors and other contactsOrganize, and analyze real estate information on markets and submarkets throughout AustraliaClosely follow and understand real estate market activity and the impact of news events on specific sectors, markets, and assetsAnalyze diverse data from disparate sources to form a cohesive real estate outlookDemonstrate resourcefulness by seeking out new and creative sources of informationMust enjoy problem solving and have excellent verbal and written communication skillsSome travel to Investor Days, conferences and property tours requiredAd-hoc and administrative tasks as neededRequirementsIn addition to a strong work ethic and motivation to learn, the Associate position requires the following skills: meticulous attention to detail, strong financial modeling, valuation skills and research skills, developing communication (both written and verbal) skills, a high level of organization, creativity, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and an ability to work independently and multi-task. Strong analytical skills and a background in finance are required.
