Duties
• Manage financial and grant activities to ensure that Active Tasmania meets Treasurer’s Instructions, financial compliance and ensures staff understand their individual budgets, responsibilities and reporting methodology. This includes planning and monitoring of appropriate and effective use of financial delegations, ensuring strong systems of internal control, development, implementation and management of budgets, analysis of data and preparation of reports as required.
• Deliver advice, support, and information to the Manager Active Tasmania and key Active Tasmania stakeholders on a broad range of business support and administrative matters. Work to streamline administrative processes within the branch and its interactions with other areas of the division and department.
• Provide leadership, management and guidance to the Operations team, through resource allocation, policy design and implementation, stakeholder management and staff mentoring to ensure the delivery of a high standard of administrative support across the branch.
• Direct and prioritise the resources within the team to best achieve the goals and objectives of Active Tasmania in accordance with ministerial direction and government priorities.
• Co-ordinate and support planning and organise resources in collaboration with Active Tasmania teams to achieve business goals.
• Adopt and promote continuous improvement initiatives through management reporting, information flow, and business processes review and organisational planning in conjunction with the Active Tasmania management team.
• Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of issues affecting Active Tasmania in meeting government priorities, including preparation of reports and development of high-level written communications including Ministerial documents and issues briefs.
• Manage complex and diverse projects to ensure the successful delivery of Divisional objectives and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through proactive liaison and negotiation to inform innovative and responsive financial, administrative and process design that meets the needs of the branch and its stakeholders
