Come join our team to be a part of this amazing opportunity!Job Title: Rock Truck Operator, OperationsReporting directly to the Supervisor, Earthworks and the Supervisor, Pit from time to time, this position is responsible for operating rock trucks for construction and quarrying purposes at the Eskay Creek Mine site.Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Operate heavy equipment including rock trucks, loaders, and packers to move, load and earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and operations activities in a safe and efficient manner.Complete shift paperwork as required including FLHAs, JHAs, equipment inspection sheets and load sheets.Perform pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, grease and refill fluids in equipment as required.Attend and participate in pre-shift safety meetings.Uphold and embody Skeena Gold + Silver’s safety standards.Assist maintenance techs, fuel/lube techs and others as required to keep equipment in good working condition.Keep equipment cabs clean and orderly.Adhere to all safety standards, regulations and rules as applicable.Participate in any site-specific training.All other duties as reasonably assigned.Education / Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 1 year of rock truck operation experience in a mine site or heavy civil work environment.Familiarity with heavy civil and mining construction including types of equipment, operations and work sequencing.Must have a valid Driver’s License.Strong commitment to promoting and maintaining strong Health and Safety Culture.Experience or demonstrated capability to work in a complex environment.Experience working in a remote mining or industrial environment is required.Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.Please specify on application types of equipment and experience level the applicant is able to operate.Applicants who do not have direct rock truck experience may be considered based on other work experience and willingness to learn.Experience / Skills:Multiple years of experience on an Articulated Rock Truck.Experience driving in a mine setting.Pre-trip inspection knowledge.Ability to run several different kinds of rock trucks.Ability to take direction from a loading and dumping tool.Ability to communicate on haul roads with a two-way radio.Understanding of the right of way rules on haul roads.Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed.Strong interpersonal and reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities.Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others.Work Location & ConditionsThis is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.All Applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada.
