About the role As the Manufacturing Manager at PGH Bricks, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations at our Oxley site, ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in a 24/7 high-performance production environment.
You will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, fostering a strong safety culture, and leading a team of 55+ employees and contractors to achieve business goals.
In this role, you will oversee production, maintenance, and yard operations, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise processes, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.
You will champion Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), and Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and performance.
Additionally, you will be responsible for managing budgets, cost control, and compliance, ensuring that site operations meet both regulatory requirements and commercial objectives.
As a key leader on-site, you will also play an active role in employee engagement, industrial relations, and fostering a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities Safety First – Champion a Zero Harm culture and maintain compliance.
Operational Leadership – Oversee manufacturing, production, and maintenance.
Process Improvement – Implement Lean, 5S, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
Team Management – Lead and develop a high-performing workforce.
Budget & Cost Control – Manage operational budgets, costs, and CAPEX.
Stakeholder & Union Engagement – Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For Proven experience in Manufacturing, Operations, or Plant Management.
Strong leadership & people management skills in a high-volume environment.
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, WCM, and process improvement.
Financial & commercial acumen – P&L, budgeting, and cost control.
Safety & compliance knowledge – WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business (preferred).
