Fixed term fulltime position for 12 months. Located in the Robinson Research Institute, the Molecular Immunology Laboratory studies the molecular and cellular basis for the development of autoimmune diseases including Type 1 Diabetes.
Working under general direction, the Research Assistant will provide technical, research and administrative support to the research leaders of the team and senior staff to ensure smooth and successful performance of the research program, including management of multiple breeding colonies.
This role will focus on sample preparation for FACS cell isolation, cell culture and library preparation for bulk RNA-seq and ATAC-seq sequencing, supporting our T1D immunogenomics research.
To be successful you will need: Experience working in a laboratory environment and a familiarity with PC2 laboratory management and safety procedures.Experience with standard biology and biochemical analyses.Experience in a molecular biology lab setting, with skills in sample preparation for FACS, cell culture and sequencing library preparation.Experience in laboratory protocols and technical procedures, including cell and tissue culture, PCR, western blotting and quantitative analysis of data.Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and record keeping.This position requires a valid National Police Check.
