About the role:
The Roading Planner supports operational performance by ensuring the cost-effective, safe and timely planning and implementation of road infrastructure works to a standard that meets operational, community access and recreational requirements. The position supports procurement activities, contractor engagement and management.
We would love you to have:
* Knowledge and/or understanding of the management of operations, preferentially in roading
* Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of technologies and systems relevant to operations planning, including some experience with GIS
* Demonstrated skills and experience in writing work operations plans.
* A preference for forestry management and protection experience, which may include road building or design, harvesting or silvicultural activities, weed and pest control, fire management, planning and suppression.
* Proven organisational skills – being a self-starter with the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines
* Experienced in monitoring contractor performance to ensure compliance
* Capacity and willingness to undertake fire and fuel management duties, fire fighting and extensive travel
