Employment Type : Temporary Full Time (Until 1 Nov 2025) Position Classification : Registered Nurse Remuneration : 70049.73 - 98351.39 Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ522118 Applications close 28 October 2024 What you'll be doing The purpose of this role is to provide a registered nurse escort service for patients being transported via hospital Patient Transport Vehicles (PTV) or hospital cars. The role will be responsible and accountable for the provision of safe and effective clinical patient care, or supervision of that care, from point of collection to point of delivery. This will include assessment of the patient as to suitability to travel by PTV administration of oral/IV medications, multi-parameter monitoring (which may include cardiac monitoring), documentation, receiving and providing handover of clinical information. The role entails working as an effective team member of the Patient Transport Service including providing assistance to the Patient Transport Officer (PTO) to ensure safe movement and timely transport of patients. The registered nurse is required to promote and maintain a positive image of the Patient Transport service and to practice within professional and legal boundaries. This is a Category A position. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in acute medical/surgical/critical nursing fields. Current Advanced Life Support accreditation or willingness to undertake same. Accreditation in IV cannulation skills or willingness to undertake same. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, independently and as an effective team member. Ability to assist with manual handling and safe transfer of patients in a variety of situations. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including high level negotiation and conflict resolution skills. A current unencumbered drivers licence and the ability and willingness to work flexible hours and to travel.
