We are seeking a motivated, commercially savvy and people-focused State Manager to lead the team in Queensland. The State Manager is responsible for the performance, profitability and future growth of the branded retail business, working with our Commission Agents & Franchisees to maximise fuel and merchandise sales, branded and unbranded food offerings, card programs, lubricants and other ancillary products and services.
Key Accountabilities include:
1. Positively contribute to the Retail Operations leadership team, ensuring active collaboration in support of strategy execution and achievement.
2. Provide thought leadership and act as Advisor to the Executive General Manager Retail and other team members around key opportunities & threats with potential to impact strategy, performance, compliance or policy.
3. Provide leadership and mentoring, building the sales/business management capability of the team members within the state.
4. Lead the state team to continually strive to achieve the highest compliance levels for all aspects of the operation of branded stores, including operational, OH&S, financial, promotional, merchandising and training standards.
5. Deliver the agreed financial performance for the region, through sales & revenue targets for merchandise sales, fuels sales and store rentals, by ensuring that area objectives are met through the development and support of Commission Agents and Franchisees.
To be successful in this role you will bring:
1. Proven track record in the Retail Operations environment, within multi-site and/or large retail store management roles.
2. Significant retail business development experience in a network/franchise environment, ideally in the petroleum and/or quick service restaurant or convenience industry.
3. Strong people leadership skills, including recruitment, coaching and development.
4. Results orientation and commercial acumen, including P&L experience.
5. Ability and willingness to travel within the region and interstate, with overnight travel, as required.
6. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or similar is desirable.
