Scraper Technician I Rio Tinto Parker Point I Local to Karratha PLI (Powerlift Industries) is a Karratha, Pilbara based leading service provider in the Mining and Resource industries and an expanding business. THE OPPORTUNITY PLI are seeking experienced Scraper Technicians to join the Rio Tinto Cranes and Transport Department, Parker Point commencing on 24th of November 2024 on a 5:5:4:4 shift roster, day and night shift. This role will require the successful applicant to be a local resident to Karratha or Dampier. Daily jobs could include but not limited to: Perform detailed inspections on a range of conveyor related equipment inclusive of primary/secondary/tertiary belt cleaners & ploughs Adherence to a scheduled plan of work Quality assurance activities & reporting Troubleshooting to resolve issues with plant & equipment Repair and refurbishments of belt cleaners or ploughs during breakdown windows or maintenance opportunities Collaborating with the wider Port team to support sustainable operation of plant ABOUT YOU Relevant Scraper technician experience (desired) Prior experience working with conveyor related equipment desirable Must have a strong attention to detail Must be able and willing to perform work that is repetitive in nature Must be a strong team player with a 'can do' attitude Ensure that the highest Safety Standards are met for the yard and its employees Focused on maintaining a clean and safe working environment as well as continuous improvement and conducting all work in accordance with quality and ISO standards Safety and process-focused, and willing to input and continually improve the process REQUIREMENTS Proof of right to work in Australia (mandatory) Current and valid Australian (HR) drivers licence (mandatory) Valid High Risk Work Licence (mandatory) White Card (mandatory) Excellent attitude to safety Flexible attitude to work within all our crews and to assist with other duties outside your scope Successful applicant is required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol screening test.
