About the role: In your role as Markets & Onboarding Associate, you will support front line and coordinate the onboarding of all products across the Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) business in Australia and New Zealand.
You will report to the Oceania Middle Office Director and will play a key role as a central hub for onboarding products for new and existing clients in the Middle Office team.
Your role is crucial to the ongoing management of the Markets and Loans onboarding middle office stream ultimately delivering on improvements to customer service and supports the markets team to focus on revenue generation activity for MUFG.
You will work closely with Relationship Managers, Global Markets team, Credit & Portfolio, Compliance and Product partners, providing critical middle office support as a dedicated single point of contact to the onboarding process.
What you'll be doing: This role includes a variety of responsibilities:
Providing Markets onboarding support expanding to all product areas across the MUFG Oceania franchise Provide middle office support and process enhancements to Relationship Managers, Products and Portfolio teams Support the business' compliance with internal processes, policies and other ad hoc support Support the Director on the creation of the middle office framework with presentations and process maps Specific tasks supporting the Markets team are:
Be knowledge and subject matter expert on all markets-related regulations, building relationships with key internal stakeholders (Compliance, GMDO, GMPD planning, COO, Operations, Portfolio and Coverage) Policy governance and operational risk control function (general banking regulation and policies with focus on markets) Create a centre of excellence for markets regulation and policy, and interface the GCIB business for markets policy coming out of Tokyo Project manage and create the structure and process, including designing the roles and responsibilities framework Write and document middle office processes into a front office manual to be developed by GMID Create centralised repository for markets ISDA / other documentation and dealing form registers Manage the centralisation of markets documentation and dealing forms and distribution across GCIB Undertake book review, portfolio monitoring and reporting of markets limits Guide and manage markets processes (e.g.
ISDA, recovery rates) including all future middle office support processes What we are looking for: 3+ years' experience in a bank in any of one of the following teams; markets teams or middle office, lending, credit and research.
We will also consider candidates from chartered accounting firms, advisory houses, investment management or from a treasury team in general corporates Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential Good banking product and services knowledge Good knowledge of onboarding requirements related to corporate clients Australian industry, business and economic understanding Good mathematical knowledge, Excel spreadsheet skills, research and analytical skills Ability to engage in independent research and analysis of customers, high level of attention to detail and apply critical thinking Strong financial analysis acumen and ability to assess large sets of data, make expert judgment, and identify key risks The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally Has good interpersonal and presentations skills Is a team player Is a self-starter who applies initiative and has drive and enthusiasm Has an analytical mindset and problem solving skills Has the ability to work independently and prioritise a number of tasks across various work streams and alongside a number of stakeholders.
