About the Role
As the Physiotherapist, you'll be integral to our multi-disciplinary team, delivering top-notch healthcare to Australian Defence Force (ADF) Personnel. Your role will encompass:
• Comprehensive Physiotherapy Services: Take charge of providing a diverse array of evidence-based physiotherapy assessments, treatments, and rehabilitative services, catering to a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal injuries commonly encountered by ADF members.
• Collaborative Approach: Embrace a collaborative mindset, working closely with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of care. Together, we'll prioritize goal-focused strategies, emphasizing measurable outcomes that facilitate the swift and effective recovery of our patients.
• Holistic Care: Recognize the importance of holistic care in optimizing the health and well-being of ADF Personnel. Your contributions will extend beyond the immediate treatment of injuries, encompassing strategies for prevention, rehabilitation, and ongoing support to promote long-term health and resilience.
• Evidence-Based Practice: Uphold the highest standards of practice by integrating the latest evidence-based techniques and modalities into your treatment plans. By staying abreast of advancements in the field, you'll continually enhance the quality and effectiveness of the care we provide.
• Patient-Centred Approach: Place the needs and preferences of our patients at the forefront of your practice. Through active listening, empathy, and clear communication, you'll empower ADF members to actively participate in their rehabilitation journey, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability for their health.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
• An unwavering personal integrity and ethical conduct
• Consistent demonstration of high moral standards
• A current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
• Minimum of 2 years' full-time or part-time equivalent, post-graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years, in an accredited physiotherapy setting
• Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines
• A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
• Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred)
• Australian Citizenship and eligibility to obtain/maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
About the Location
Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km east of the city of Darwin. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2,800 defence staff, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The Health Centre provides primary medical, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health services, and operates a 22-bed 24/7 ward. Standard operating hours are 0730-1530, Monday-Friday.
