Assistant Director, Taxation and Governance Support

Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Governance and Tax professional to undertake and support a range of Taxation services across the ACT government and Governance for Shared Services.
* Provide high-quality Taxation support services to ACT government directorates.
* Collaborate with colleagues to deliver financial accounting and reporting, taxation support, banking and business intelligence services, accounts payable, accounts receivable and debt management.
Key Responsibilities:
Taxation Services:
* Interpret various legislations, Taxation Law and practices to ensure successful delivery of Taxation support services.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Governance:
* Support governance initiatives across the ACT government.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement governance policies and procedures.
Communication and Teamwork:
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
* Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Requirements:
Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of interpreting various legislations, Taxation Law and practices.
* Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded.

* Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
