We are seeking a reporter to create content for broadcast, social media and online platforms to engage and inform audiences.The JobWe are looking for a dynamic and driven reporter to create news content for multiple platforms. Reporting to the Editor ABC Tropical North, the role will involve: Creating accurate and concise digital news content across multiple platforms. Delivering news including producing and presenting news bulletins, Q & As, interviews and packages, including breaking stories. Delivering creative and original stories with impact, to achieve strong reach and engagement with local and national audiences. Contributing to the implementation of the Local Emergency Coverage plan. The position is based in Mackay but serves a region including Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays, the mining region west to Moranbah and Dysart and agricultural areas south to Sarina and St Lawrence. It is a diverse region, with fishing, snorkelling, rainforests, and tropical islands on your doorstep. The region boasts more than 30 beaches, a thriving arts community and other great lifestyle opportunities. About YouYou are a highly motivated reporter with a strong knowledge of local and national news issues. Your skills and experience include: Creative digital storytelling ability. Sound editorial skills and judgment. Strong understanding of the issues that affect and interest the diverse local audience.
