Widgee State School is seeking an innovative and dynamic educator to lead the school as Principal, commencing in 2025. If you are passionate about education and have a vision linked with pride and tradition, we invite you to join our school and community.
Widgee State School opened in 1892 and is situated 23 km West of Gympie on The Great Dividing Range. The school community promotes a sense of pride and tradition while providing quality public education that meets the needs of all members. We have families who have lived in the area for generations, as well as those who have recently moved from larger populated areas.
About the Role: As the Principal, you will:
Deliver the vision of the department Improve the educational outcomes of students Develop the quality of teaching and learning Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community, and stakeholders Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the school community to develop and commit to a shared educational vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students. Upholding the principalship as a values-based, ethical, and moral activity. Embedding socially just practices in daily school life. Setting high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Forming partnerships with parents, government agencies, community groups, industry, and business. Being futures-oriented and strategic. Understanding the legislation and policies that impact schooling. Managing resources to achieve goals.
