About the role :
We are looking for a detail-oriented Asset Accountant to manage the timely processing of fixed and intangible asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and transfers, into the fixed asset register. You will ensure accurate asset tracking and compliance with accounting standards, supporting efficient financial reporting for the organisation.
What will you be doing in your new role :
* Process asset additions, disposals, and transfers into the fixed asset register promptly
* Perform period-end close procedures for assets, depreciation / amortisation, and accruals
* Provide invoice coding and guidance for capital and maintenance purchases
* Maintain period-end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve queries
* Ensure integrity and accuracy of the fixed asset register
* Collaborate with construction, property, and operational teams
* Apply knowledge of accounting and tax depreciation rates and methods
* Reconcile general ledger balances with the fixed asset sub-ledger
* Prepare asset-related disclosures for half-year and year-end accounts
* Assist in audit preparation and process / system improvements
About You :
* Bachelor’s degree in accountancy
* Recently completed or ability to commence studying towards CPA / CA
* Previous experience working within an Accounting / Asset Accounting environment
* Advanced computer and MS skills, specifically within Excel
* Demonstrated commercial experience (Highly desirable)
* Previous experience with JD Edwards desirable, but not essential
* Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects effectively
