Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.Project Overview:Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.Job Summary:In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel.Major Responsibilities:Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directedSupports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reportsAssists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplinesSupports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contractsAssists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialtyAssists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisionsSupports the project trend programAssists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffsEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experienceQualifications and Skills:Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis at a jobsite location.Skilled in oral and written communication.Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite of tools, including ExcelProficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications.Knowledge of financial report systems and controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls.Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently.There are many reasons why choosing to join Bechtel is one of the best career decisions you will ever make.
