My client is a single-family office based in Richmond, Melbourne.
Their investment strategy includes direct and indirect investments across various asset classes, including private equity, corporate credit, equities and real estate in Australia.
Due to the continued growth of their investment team, an Investment Analyst position has been opened.
Upon successful hire, you will be involved in idea generation, due diligence, valuation, modelling, research, transaction execution and management, portfolio management, attending company meetings & industry events, and maintaining relationships with brokers and other industry contacts.

Upon successful hire, you will be involved in:Direct investment:Evaluate investment opportunities across a range of asset classes.Analyse performance and portfolio characteristics and assist with preparing written investment recommendations for the Investment Committee.Conduct industry and market research to help identify and assess trends.Conduct due diligence on direct investment opportunities.Maintain a new opportunities register.Assist with the due diligence process.Maintain local data room.Build and maintain financial models.Show portfolio impacts (correlation, etc.
)Prepare internal reports on a range of topics (such as sector, industry, geopolitical or macroeconomic reports)Indirect Investment:Be involved in all aspects of the indirect investment process, including attending meetings with existing and prospective managers.Conduct due diligence on new and existing fund managers.Assist in preparing quarterly portfolio and market reviews.Evaluate existing fund managers.Maintain manager and attribution analysis.Present to the Investment Committee.Perform analysis and research related to third-party managers and/or underlying markets.Attend investment manager meetings.Write and maintain meeting notes.Maintain internal databases, including managers, funds, contacts, and pipeline.The ideal candidate will have the following:A Bachelor's degree, ideally in finance, business, accounting or a related field.3-5 years of experience gained in funds management, equity research, private equity, corporate development, asset management or corporate finance.Sound financial analysis, due diligence, valuation and/or modelling skills.Demonstrable experience in company and industry analysis.Solid understanding of core accounting concepts.A passion and curiosity for investing.A strong work ethic and an ability to work autonomously as part of a team.Integrity and honesty.Would you like to hear more?
