Full Job Description: We are seeking experienced and dedicated Senior Farm Hands for a permanent, full-time position on a mixed cropping operation located near Wheatbelt region, Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for two proactive individuals to join a thriving farming business and take on a key role in the management of cropping and farm operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise a small team, ensuring productivity and safety across all farm operations Plan, coordinate, and execute crop production strategies for wheat, barley, canola, and other crops, ensuring adherence to seasonal cropping plans Operate and maintain modern farming equipment, including tractors, headers, boom sprays, seed drills, and irrigation systems Oversee general farming operations, including planting, cultivating, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting crops Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the farm's infrastructure, including machinery, fencing, water systems, yards, and pest/weed control Plan and manage the sale, purchase, and transportation of produce and livestock Supervise the setup and operation of RTK GPS and precision farming equipment Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors, ensuring a high standard of work Maintain accurate records for all farming activities and chemical applications Uphold farm safety standards and adhere to OH&S regulations Demonstrate leadership in fostering a positive work environment and cultivating professional relationships Facilitate and coordinate farming operations, ensuring efficient workflows and optimal use of resources Ideal Candidate: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar mixed cropping or broadacre farming role Strong practical experience in the operation and maintenance of modern farm machinery and equipment Chemical accreditation and experience with chemical application Familiarity with RTK GPS systems and precision farming technologies Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage staff and contractors Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one A high level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records Tertiary qualifications in agriculture or relevant trades qualifications (highly regarded) Valid driver’s license: HR license is desirable A passion for agriculture, with a focus on continuous learning and adopting new technologies What We Offer: Competitive salary package: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum, based on experience Modern on-farm accommodation with utilities and phone included A supportive and dynamic work environment with opportunities for career growth Access to the latest machinery and agricultural technology
