Strategically positioned offices and warehouses in Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia allow us to efficiently meet the needs of our nationwide clientele.Position Summary:The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the financial operations and reporting of the group including the subsidiary companies. This role oversees the business day to day financial operations and is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial systems and records. This includes financial reporting to management, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management and internal controls.The Finance Manager also ensures that the group is adhering to all the compliance related laws and regulations and is responsible for managing and developing the accounting division which includes Accountants, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and Payroll.Key Responsibilities:Financial and Management ReportingPrepare month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statementsTracking and reporting on budget variancesProvide commentary on the financial performance of the groupPrepare the year-end statutory financial statementsSupervise stock take reports for the stock valuations and the analysis of movements.Budgets & ForecastsPreparation of annual budgets for the groupLiaising with other department heads and get their input for accurate preparation of the budgetPreparation of forecasts on a monthly basis to keep a constant eye on the performance outlook of the groupReporting any foreseeable variances of the forecast against the budgetProvide commentary and reports against the budget and forecastCash Flow ManagementCollaborate with the CFO to monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the group can meet its financial obligationsMonitoring and reviewing of our customers and suppliers in regards to its payment terms with the view of optimising working capitalComplianceLead the audit process and ensure timely and efficient delivery. Manage relationship with auditors.Ensuring compliance with financial and tax lawsTax Compliance: Preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring compliance including BAS, PAYG W, PAYG Income Tax, FBT. This is to be done in conjunction with the Tax Agents.Making sure all the tax, state, employee related and other various compliances are done in a timely mannerEnsuring that the group is up to date and adhering to all applicable laws and regulationsTeam ManagementTeam leadership and development of the Finance teamMentoring, overseeing and guiding Finance team members – Accounting, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable and PayrollQualifications and Key Competencies:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldQualifications: CA / CPA (Mandatory)Years of Experience:≥5 years as a Finance ManagerTechnical ProficiencyAdvanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis and proficiency in financial management software.Proficiency in developing and managing budgets, as well as forecasting future financial performance based on historical dataAnalytical SkillsData Analysis: Ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights. For example, analyzing project costs to determine areas for cost reduction.Attention to DetailAccuracy in Financial Reporting: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure financial reports are accurate and compliant.Communication SkillsInterpersonal Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.Leadership and Team ManagementTeam Development: Experience in mentoring and developing finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Cross-Department Collaboration: Skills in working collaboratively with various departments, including operations and procurement, to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
