Senior Analyst - Liquid Markets Risk Job Description
About the role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to join our Liquid Markets Risk team based in Brisbane on an open term, permanent basis.
You will be responsible for conducting independent investment risk analysis and spearheading risk management initiatives across our liquid market and multi-sector portfolios.
Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring robust risk management practices are upheld, contributing to the overall stability and success of our investments team.
The key accountabilities are not limited to but include:
1. Designing, configuring, implementing, and operating systems and processes related to investment risk management.
2. Developing investment risk analysis, metrics, reports, and presentations tailored to liquid markets and multi-sector portfolios. This includes creating stress tests, liquidity risk assessments, counterparty risk metrics, analysing the impact of non-linear instruments on risk profiles, and evaluating leverage and exposure.
3. Providing expert advice to identify risks associated with transactions in new andplex instruments and associated risk metrics.
4. Contributing to the review and update of investment risk policies, standards, and guidelines to support a framework tailored to QIC and client requirements.
5. Undertaking risk assessments and provide independent risk reports for Investmentmittee decision papers.
6. Independently assess the appointment and implementation of external investment managers.
About you
You will demonstrate a high level of integrity when applying professional judgement to solve problems, achieving the optimal balance between strong risk management, themercial environment, cost-effectiveness, and practical oues:
7. Degree qualified in a relevant field such as Maths, Finance, or Economics.
8. Proven technical experience in investment risk, with a strong understanding and application of investmenternance and risk management principles.
9. Ability to identify, analyse, and proactively resolve problems affecting the organization's obligations and exposure to investment-related risks.
10. Demonstrated experience using analytical tools such as MS Excel (including VBA), MS Access, SQL, Matlab, Bloomberg, and Power BI.
11. Advanced skills in quantitative analysis, coupled with good judgement, the ability to influence others effectively, and a high attention to detail with a methodical and accurate approach.
12. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
