One Fixed term position for 12 months is available to work on projects in building robust Machine Learning Models and Virtual Machines.
This is an opportunity for a highly proficient programmer to join a world-leading research group in Computer Security and Machine Learning as well as the Computer Science department ranked 48th in the world and The University of Adelaide ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide.
In this position, you will work on developing and implementing Machine Learning models, support developing attacks and defenses, and support developing software tools, preparing supporting documentation and reports.
The researcher will work with domain experts on the machine learning aspect of current projects at the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, which includes:
* Developing and implementing deep learning methods to build robust machine learning models (such as robustness to alterations or noise added to inputs to mislead a model or to force a model to make a malicious decision).
* Evaluating the robustness of methods.
* Developing software tools to support the development of robust machine learning models.
To be successful you will need:
* Knowledge in software development with a focus on Unix systems, Python programming and an understanding of deep learning algorithms.
* High-level written communication skills including the ability to produce hardware and software artifacts and write technical reports.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to tailor communication skills when interacting with students, researchers, professional staff, and external stakeholders.
