Capability Support is a provider of services to people living in the community. Capability was founded on the premise that we can do better for people living with disability, children, youth and families in the community, by providing flexible, personalised, high quality and professional supports. Capability is providing Therapeutic Contact and Transport to Children and Young People with varied needs, including some with behaviours that present as complex. We are seeking professional, suitably experienced and qualified staff members to provide this service, with varied hours of engagements. Most shifts are between 3 and 8 hours in length. The requirements of the role include transporting Children and Young People to and from their daily activities, including education, Contact sessions, or other appointments. Capability Staff will be required to install Car Safety Mechanisms (such as Car Seats, provided by Capability) and will be afforded training to ensure that they are able to do so in a safe manner. Capability has a number of casual positions currently, with the intention to move towards permanency. Competitive pay-rates As a Family Support Worker, you will be expected to undertake the following duties: Transporting Children and Young People and communicating in a therapeutic manner in order to assist them to achieve their goals Establish relationships with Children, Young People and Families to empower positive relationships Installation of car seats Facilitating Therapeutic Contact Sessions with Children and Families Comprehensive report writing and note taking Compliance with all relevant legislations, policies and procedures. Provide and participate in appropriate activities with Young People. Requirements: Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) or Children's Check (NSW) Police check undertaken in the last 12 months, or willingness to undertake one (this may include an International Police Check if you have lived overseas in the past 10 years) A valid Australian Drivers License Appropriate Working Rights in Australia Current First Aid & CPR Qualifications Reliable, Insured Motor Vehicle Capability encourages applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders, or those with lived experience in the Out-of-Home Care Sector.
