This role also supports research projects, leads demonstrator tours, manages and updates the assets registry and aids in the development of real-time 3D graphics research projects.Accountabilities:Lead the development, support, testing and deployment of the 3DXLab's real-time capabilities, including high-end visualisation display systems, 3D volumetric capture systems, XR hardware and software, and server infrastructure with a mix of Apple OS, Windows and Linux computers.Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of hardware system components within the facility.
Manage purchasing decisions, vendor selection, and budgeting to ensure cost-effective solutions.Develop, refine and maintain comprehensive scripts, documentation, user guides and the software components driving the hardware systems.Oversee and support the delivery of 3DXLab projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with operational and strategic goals.
Ensure project milestones are achieved in a timely manner while maintaining compliance with project goals.Manage and lead day-to-day project support, including contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of the projects.Assess and mitigate project dependencies, risks, issues, change requests and financials, and work with the project team to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.Coordinate adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure projects are managed within a defined, consistent, and proven set of rules for project development and implementation.Partner with the Project Team and key stakeholders to monitor and report on progress of projects; and contribute to identifying problems and proposing possible solutions.Develop and manage effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the project, and facilitate 3DXLab engagement events.Skills and Experience:To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.Qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field of study, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.Proven desktop and server support experience with knowledge of Windows, Linux and Apple environments.Proven experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including 3D real-time visualisation/graphics hardware, XR hardware and software, CGI rendering and server infrastructure.Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.Benefits and Culture:People are at the core of everything we do.
